The National Museum of Art in Osaka is one of the most important and popular museums in Japan and has already hosted several prestigious exhibitions, with large selections of works on loan from famous museum and galleries all around the world. Between April 7 - June 24 2007 the museum is hosting an impressive and unique exhibition, featuring a large selection of works on loan from the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels. The four hundred years of history of the Belgian museum will be presented to Japanese art-lovers trhough 87 masterpieces, carefully selected.
This unique exhibition will include not only "The Fall of Icarus", one of the best works by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, bu also compositions painted by Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens, Khnopff, Ensor, Magritte, Delvaux. It is the biggest and most important exhibition of this kind ever presented in Japan.
