2. It was Peter Green who wanted the band to donate almost all of the earnings for various charitable foundations. As the others weren't keen on the idea it was just a matter of time until they split up.
3. At one time, in 1974, there was a fake Fleetwood Mac. After falling out with the manager, Clifford Davis, it was a shock to the members of the band when he actually put together another group under the same name. And more than that, they even went on tour. The charade lasted for some time and was the target of a long trial.
4. Rumours, their 11th studio album was launched in 1977 and until now more than 40 million units have been sold, on various formats. It is by far their most succesfull record and was widely appreciated by fans and critics alike.
5. Fans still consider the classic Fleetwood Mac lineup the one with Stevie Nicks, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. But for this band stability seemed to be impossible, and this was about the ninth or tenth lineup.
6. From the original band only the drummer Mick Fleetwood is still a part of the group.
7. Fleetwood Mac have sold over 140 million albums so far.
