Walter Elias "Walt" Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago and when he was only a child his family moved to a farm in Missouri. He was one of the greates film producers, directors, screenwriters, voice actors, entertainers and internationals icon from all times. During the 20th century he detained the almost the whole influence in the area of entertainment. The corporation he co – founded with his brother, Roy Disney, has an annual revenues of aproximately 35 billion U.S. Dollar.
As a child Walt Disney grew close to his older brother Roy. They both had a difficult childhood because of their father, who beated them. At the age of 16 Walt moved back to Chicago to study art and three years later he started making cartoon ads, which were shown in movie theaters.
When he turned 22, he went to L.A, where he drew cartoons in his garage. He drew many pictures and showing them one after another very quick, the pictures seem to move.
A few years later Walt moved in Kansas City and together with his brother Roy pooled up their money to set up a cartoon studio in Hollywood. When he was 27 years old he created the famous cartoon character Mickey Mouse. During the years the producer invented Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy or Pluto. It was just the beginning of his successful career.
He decided once to create a full – length animated movie. No one did that before and his brilliant idea changed the whole world. After four years of work his masterpiece was ready: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". After that, Walt together with his team continued to create “Cinderella”, “101 Dalmations”, "Bambi", "The Lion King", "Mary Poppins"…He also created Disneyland and the Walt Disney World where children and even adults have a lot of fun.
The talented entertainer dicovered that he had an enormous tumor on his left lung, which spread to such a great extent that the doctors had to remove the entire lung. On December 15, 1966, ten days after his 65th birthday, he died.
