The National Museum of Art in Osaka, Japan, will be hosting, starting on the 10th of July, the first exhibition of this magnitude of Russian art from the Kremlin, presenting to the Japanese art lovers a detailed image of the treasures and wonders of the Tsars. The curators have chosen 230 works, on loan from the Moscow Kremlin Museums, showcasing all forms of art and creating a complete history of the cultural and artistic history of Moscow, from it's very beginnings, when the city was first mentioned in the dusty parchments of the era, in 1147, to the first decades of the 20th century.
The collection at the Kremlin Museum is without a doubt the best of it's kind, characterized by richness and great variety, and a visit there is the best way to have an overview of the Russian capital's evolution throughout history. Over the decades, the collection at the Kremlin Museum have grown in a quick pace, due to the richness of the Moscow's archdukes and the passion for collecting that the tsars had. It is a great achievement for the National Museum of Art in Osaka to obtain on loan such real treasure, bringing the past to life in an elegant and organised manner.
"The Greatest Treasures of Russian Tsars. Wonders of the Kremlin, a World Heritage Site" exhibition will be opened until the 17th of September 2007 and is already expected with enthusiasm by Japanese audiences and art historians.
