The house on the hill, at number 68, Ion Creanga street, in Falticeni, was built after the plans of the Romanian writer Mihail Sadoveanu on the place which he bought from a farmacist's doughter.
Sadoveanu lived at this place between 1909 and 1918. "Once arrived home I'm thinking only at how to get rest and reset", wrote in 1913 the writer.
In the house on the hill Mihail Sadoveanu wrote novels as : Night Stories and Genova of Brabant in 1910, Dead's Water in 1911, Bordeienii in 1912, Dobrogean Sights in 1914, Neamul Soimarestilor in 1915, 44 days in Bulgaria in 1916.
Mihail Sadoveanu was a writer, narrator, fictionist, novelist, academician and Romanian politician. He is considered to be one of the most important prose writer of the first half of the twentieth century . He's writtings can be grouped in several phases which corespond to current literar trends.
