The Serbian church from Arad was build between 1698-1702. It has a rectangular plan with an apse retired and a bell tower in the longitudinal axis. At the entrances from the north and south it has a small church porch.
The construction was dedicated to "St. Peter and Paul" and was founded by captain Ioan Tekelia and his border guards.
Inside the church the shrine has a semicircular shape and presents two inches on the south and north sides.
From the initial shape the church suffered some modifications, specially in the period between the years 1698 and 1702, being designed with the actual Baroque style.
The bell tower, the square section, was built with an enriched Baroque decoration. It also was over raised in 1822, covered with board and finalised with a golden globe. The church was painted inside by some serbian painters from the family Alexici. The iconostasis was painted by Nicolae Alexici in the year 1863 and the vault of the church was painted by Nicolae Alexei between 1845-1848. The paint was restored in 1902 by his son, Stefan Alexei.
The Serbian church from Arad, Romania is provided with a semi-cylindrically vault and pesents inside the nave three pairs of pillars.
The floor is made of polished stone and in front of the shrine there is a marble plaque that covers the crypt of the family Tekelia, from the year 1960.
