Ion Luca Caragiale was born on February 1, 1852 in Haimanale, village in Prahova county. He died on June 9, 1912 in Berlin.
In his life he was a great playwright, fictionist, pamphleteer, poet, writer, theater director, political commentator and journalist. He is considered to be one of the greatest Romanian playwright and one of the most important Romanian writers as well.
