The Empire State Building is a 102 – storey skyscraper in New York. It stood for the world’s tallest building for more than 40 years until World Trade Center was built. After its destruction in 2001, the Empire became again the tallest building in NYC, the third in the USA and the 15th in the world.
The Empire State Building is an architectural beauty and it is one of the most marvellous tourist attraction in New York. It starred in over 90 movies and it is situated on the 5th and 34th Avenues.
When the construction of the giant was ready, the president of the United States Herbert Hoover turned on a button in Washington D.C. to officially open the building by turning on the Empire State Building’s lights.
The total cost of the skyscraper was over 40 million $. The total high of the building is 1, 454 feet and the 86th floor where visitors can see the most wonderfull panorama of the entire NYC, of the Chrysler Building or Harlem River is 1,050 feet tall. The building has 102 floors and 6,500 windows
