Takashi Murakami was born in Tokyo in 1963 and he is a curator and an entrepreneur of contemporary Japanese society. His works represents paintigs of cartoons, minimalist sculptures, giant balloons, T-shirts or even watches. All this have his charakteristic signature: Mr. DOB.
The artist received for his talent and for his creations many important awards. In 2003 he succeded to have his own solo exhibition at Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York. His works were also admired in the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris, in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston or in the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris.
Murakami is also internationally recognized for his collaboration with the designer Marc Jacobs. Both created handbags and other accessoires for the Louis Vuitton Fashion House.
