On Friday, March 23, the celebration continues at the Bard College with "The Writer The Censor The Market." Norman Manea will moderate a conversation with writers Carmen Firan, Dan Lungu, Simona Popescu, Bogdan Suceava, and Lucian Dan Teodorovici, joined by Edward Hirsch and translator Carla Baricz,about writing under the ideological censorship prevailing during the communist regime and the economic pressure that replaced it, and the shifting place and role of the writer.
