2. An old Dutch custom calls for you to congratulate the entire family on somebody's birthday.
3. One of the most popular weird customs, as every year more and more newspapers, TV station and sites present it: the Spanish tomato fight. La Tomatina is not only the bigget tomato fight, but also the funniest and most loved. And if the tomatoes are really ripe there will be a mess. A real mess. But all in good fun.
4. In South Korea it is an especially bad omen to write someone's name in red ink. As it is customary to write the names of the deceased using this color, doing so for a living person is the same as cursing him or her. Maybe it's just superstition, but be careful to respect it if you are in the country.
5. In Denmark cemetaries are not considered spooky or scarry, but a place for friendly gatherings, to socialize and have a good time. The custom is both a sign of love and respect for the dearly departed and a way of turning a cemetery into a park.
6. We know about bull fighting or cockfighting, there is even dog fighting (as horrible as it is) but did you know that in Turkey there is customary to have camel wrestling? Ok, nobody gets hurt and it is more somewhat of a game, but is is by all means something you don't see everyday.
7. While it is slowly becoming a thing of the past, this Scottish custom is rather disgusting. Bearing the name of "blackened bride" it requires to party goers to throw eggs, garbage, old milk at the bride-to-be. The reason is that it prepares her for the hardships of marriage, but it's not something you want to go through.
8. If you go to China to not give any of the following gifts: clocks, flowers, handkerchiefs, sandals made out of straws. They are all associated with death and suffering.
9. When you have a child in Finland you can receive either 140 Euros or a maternity box, with baby clothes, a matress and other useful things for the first difficult days.
10. It is customary in Venezuela to come at least 10 to 15 minutes late to meet someone, as it is a proof of greed and lack of patience to simply respect the time. As strange as it might seem the custom is still being respected, so don't be in a hurry.
