Saul Steinberg is still considered one of the most important and inventive artists of the 20th century, mostly because of his long lasting colaboration to the New Yorker magazine, where he published some of his greatest creations. The Cincinnati Art Museum is hosting an impressive show dedicated to the works of this tallented artist, reuniting over one hundred drawings, collages, sculptures. Steinberg : Illuminations is the first major show dedicated to this artist, and the curators have managed to present in detail the range of his artistic creativity. |
The works range from the 1930s to the 1990s, bringing together both cartoons made for newspapers and magazines and works for art galleries. Steinberg's works are at the same time amusing and stimulative to the visitors.
