Starting in the summer of 2007, on the 8th of June, the National Gallery of Canada will open a fascinating exhibition presenting the landscapes painted by Renoir between 1865 - 1883. It's been ten years since the museum has presented the exhibition Renoir's Portraits, with great success, and now it is time for the art-lovers to discover how the artist understood and represented the world around him, from his garden in Paris to the streets of Algiers or the hills in Guernsey.
The famous French Impressionist artist has captured several astounding views, with full vibrant colours and effects of life, so the organizers had to choose some of the best, and in the end 60 of the most beautiful landscapes made the final list. Most of these are on loan from various museums and private collectors all around the world.
The organizers are hoping that this exhibition will have the same success as Renoir's Portraits, but maybe it will be even better.
