Starting with February 1973 and ending with October 1977, when the band was already considered to be one of best new groups in the world, Queen had recorded no less than 24 songs in the BBC studios, and these were surprisingly different from the original ones that you could listen to on singles and the albums. Often reworking the song to an amazing degree, with changes and impromptus that reminded the listener of Queen live on stage, these six sessions became one of the most wanted unreleased treasures for the band's fans. It would be a long time until, in 1989, the first and third session were released as Queen at the Beep, and only fueled the need for a complete edition. So it was regarded as amazing news when this year, after so long a wait, there were official talks about releasing (finally) the complete six sessions. If Queen at the BBC was one of the most desired products that could once again tell the story of Queen at it's height, both live and in the studio, these 24 songs are an amazing document of that period. Ranging from the first hits like Keep Yourself Alive or Liar, White Queen or Nevermore and on to later recordings such as Spread Your Wings or Now I'm Here, the collection will also offer (for the first time officially) some rare treats. Such as a brilliant version of See What A Fool I've Been, an usual live number, or the fast version of We Will Rock You, making their first appearance on an official album.
The fans will be able to buy this new product, entitled Queen On Air starting with November 2016, and there will be three different products. The first, for the casual fan and those who simply want the BBC sessions, will have two CDs with the 24 songs and a booklet with some rare info and pics. Those who preffer vinyl will be able to buy a box set with three records, comprising the six BBC sessions. And for those who want even more a special, deluxe box set will be available: two CDs with the BBC recordings, one CD with songs from three concerts which were broadcast on the radio, as well as three discs with audio interviews, some of them real surprises even for the fans.
