The American artist Richard Prince began appropiating photographs in 1975. He was the first artist who raised more than $ 1 million at auction with his image, Untitled (Cowboy), a "rephotograph" of a photograph taken originally by Sam Abell.
His artworks can be seen until 27 May in in the exhibition "Prince/Picasso" at the Picasso Museum in Malaga, Spain. The exhibition will have Prince’s works made him one of the most closely-watched artists on the international contemporary art scene.
The visitors can admire 38 large-format paintings and 51 small-format collages and photo-collages. These were created by the artist in the last two years.
