PARIS PHOTO 2005 17 - 20 November 2005 Since its creation in 1997, Paris Photo, the international fair for nineteenth-century, modern and contemporary photography, has won recognition as the world's premiere event for photography in all its rich diversity, from rare early prints to avant-garde work from the 1920s and '30s, and from documentary photography to the latest practices, including fashion, movie-still photography and photojournalism. Each year during the month of November, Paris Photo hosts some hundred galleries and publishers from around the globe at the prestigious Carrousel du Louvre. The fair offers a clear perspective on trends and the market to art lovers and collectors. In the Statement section, Paris Photo also pays tribute each year to the photography scene in a particular country other than France. A guest curator selects the Statement galleries to present solo exhibitions of photographers' works. www.parisphoto.fr
