Nutzi Acontz was a Romanian paintress born on 16th November 1894, in Focsani, Vrancea county. She died in Bucharest on 19th December 1957, after a life dedicated to art.
She studied at the Fine Arts School in Iasi, this county being also the place of establishment for her armean family.
Aurel Leon, a Romanian writer, realised in his "Shadows" evocative series the physical portrait of the paintress, describing her like "a short girl with round cheeks and oriental forehead under the basque placed on her dark braids. The light in her eyes were the first thing that were capable to give you an extasy state. Later i was convinced that Nutzi Acontz was directly acorded to the painting that she created with a precious transparency, in fact, spontaneous, with the sudden burst of a collor patch in the calm registry of the frame".
Her paintings are now a part of some art collections from Romania and abroad.
