O galerie din S.U.A. prezinta in perioada februarie-martie 2006 o expozitie de grup cu lucrari inspirate de scrierile si personalitatea celui care a fost un scriitor cunoscut al Renasterii, Nostradamus.
Michel de Nostredame, cunoscut sub pseudonimul Nostradamus, fascineaza si starneste controverse, fiind considerat de unii cel mai mare profet care a trait vreodata, un autentic vizionar, iar de altii un simplu trisor.
Daca majoritatea vizionarilor si futurologilor puteau doar sa dea indicii vagi cu privire la evenimentele din viitor, Nostradamus facea profetii cu o acuratete socanta, precizand date clare, configuratii astrale, evenimente climatice si numind prin intermediul anagramelor tari si orase care aveau sa ia nastere sute de ani mai tarziu.
Profetiile sale sunt cunoscute sub numele de Centurii, continand o suta de texte a cate patru versuri fiecare, majoritatea prevestind dezastre. Este anuntata si o Apocalipsa care va veni la inceputul noului mileniu. Se spune ca obisnuia sa primeasca mesajele pe care le nota sub forma de versuri dintr-o sursa misterioasa, pe care o invoca in fata oglinzii.
In Centurii apar trei personaje malefice, care influenteaza decisiv istoria umanitatii, comentatorii identificandu-i pe primii doi cu Napoleon si Hitler. Cel de al treilea, numit de Nostradamus "Mabus" a fost reprezentat ca un personaj de origine araba, care va porni cel de al treilea razboi mondial intr-o adevarata ciocnire a civilizatiilor. Acesta va lovi pamantul nou, America, mai precis New York-ul, asa cum avea sa se si intample pe 9/11.
