In May 2007 the Albertina Museum in Viena received, on permanent loan, one of the most impressive private collections ever assembled, that of Rita and Herbert Batliner, totalling over 500 works by some of the most important artists of the 19th - 20th century. The museum is at the time hosting a show which presents, until June 2008, a selection of the best works from the famed collection, signed by artists such as Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Chagall, Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, Kandinsky, Sam Francis, Mark Rothko, Roy Lichtenstein and Francis Bacon.
