After several rumours and post-ponements, press articles and internet announces, it is official : on July 23rd 2008, on the Cotroceni lStadium in Bucharest, Metallica will once again return to Romania, for the third time. It was one of the most expected concerts in the previous years, as the first and second time that the legendary group came to Romania the success was beyond expectations.
At first, it was ust a rumour that the group would return to Romania, during their new world tour. Even if at the beginning the band denied the possibility of a show, it wasn't long until the place and date were finally confirmed. The event will be organised by Emagic Entertainment, one of the most important Romanian promoters, and is bound to be a new success for the band and a chance for the fans to see Metallica on-stage.
Founded in 1981, Metallica shocked from their very first concerts and underground demos as a band who wanted to change all the glam rock that was in fashion with a new style, mainly trash influenced, which was fast, loud, strong and without limits. Instead of love songs and catchy tunes about parties and fun, Metallica gave the young, rebel audience a music that protested and fought against everything. At the same time, especially with their third album - Master of Puppets (considered by many their best ever) - the band proved that it wasn't just the attitude, they were also surprinsingly talented musicians and composers. Over the years the band sold over 100 million record world wide, had several hundred concerts and is now finishing it's ninth studio album, which will be released this year.
The tickets for the show are already on-sale, but members of the Romanian official Metallica Fan Club were given a special treat. At the direct request of the band they had 24 hours, before everyone else, to buy their tickets front stage. A gester that is unlikely to be forgotten and not thanked by the enthusiastic crowd.
