Starting with September 26th 2008 the National Museum of Art in Bucharest, in a partnership with the French Embassy in Romania and the French Institute in Bucharest, will be presenting one of the most eagerly awaited shows of this year, "Line and Colour", showcasing a rich selection from the collection of Italian drawings at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Art lovers will thus have the chance of discovering first-hand some of the most obscure works of Italian masters, of special interest being the selection of Florentine drawings. Fascinating for their alegories, mythological and biblical scenes, they range from sketches and model studies to preparatory drawings for larger compositions or self-standing works. Among the names featured in the exhibition are Cristofano Allori, Cecco Bravo, Francesco Furini, Baldassare Franceschini and others.
The exhibition at the MNAR will open to the general public starting with September 26th and can be visited from Thursday to Sunday, from 11.00 to 19.00.
