For the first time the works of one of the most popular and tallented photographers of the last century are presented in Germany, at the Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art in Dusseldorf, until August 28 2007. Bringing together the finest examples of artistic photography signed by an iconic figure of the 1960's, the show is bound to be a success. During the 1960's Schiller was one of the best american photographers, managing to capture now famous images of important actors, musicians, politicians and artists, ranging from Robert Kennedy or Barbara Streisand to Mohammed Ali or Marilyn Monroe. His works were published in prestigious magasines in the US and Europe, such as Paris Match, Life, Look, Newsweek, Time, The London Sunday Times, Playboy and others, while Schiller received several important prizes and distinctions.
His most famous series of photographs are those depicting Marilyn Monroe on the set of her last movie, Something Has Got to Give (1962). Due to the special relationship that had developped between them, the artist was able to catch some of the best images of Marilyn, during the notorius bathing scene, offering another Marilyn which transcended the usual image of the spoiled and difficult diva. This photographs were published by Schiller only at the beginning of 2007.
Schiller is not only a photographer, but also a writer and film director and producer.
