The name of Jim Henson is known worldwide, mainly due to the fact that he is the creator of the famous Muppets and also of the characters and stories from the Sesame Street. Many generations of children have grown up in the 70s and 80s watching the adventures of the puppets imagined by Henson and his team, and characters such as Peggy, Kermit or Big Bird, although nowadays not as popular as they used to be, are iconic images of American popular culture.
The Arkansas Art Center, USA, is hosting between September 7 - November 25 an exhibition dedicated to the fantastic world of Jim Henson (1936 - 1990), presenting his career as an artist, film director, producer of shows and puppeteer. It is a reare chance for the adults who enjoyed Henson's shows in their childhood to discover the fascinating world of Henson, by means of one hundred original artworks, ranging from drawings to cartoons and storyboards. It will also be a splendid occasion for the youngsters to learn what important role Muppets and Sesame Street played in the days gone by.
