JERUSALEM, ISRAEL.- The Jerusalem Municipality officials rejected a proposal to bring a replica of Rodin’s The Thinker because of haredi opposition because it is a nude figure, reported The Jerusalem Post. The Rodin Museum was going to be given to the city of Jerusalem as a gift, almost a 100 years after it was first unveiled in front of the Pantheon in 1906. The haredi city councilmen fiercely opposed to this gift because they see it as an affront to their religious standards of modesty.
