EMINESCU: ION CARAMITRU & AURELIAN-OCTAV POPA ON AN EXTENDED U.S. TOUR
The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York is pleased to present EMINESCU, a special event of poetry and music performed by legendary actor Ion Caramitru and clarinetist Aurelian-Octav Popa. The performance, in Romanian only, is based on a selection from the poetry, prose and philosophy work of Romania's national poet, Mihai Eminescu. Following the enthusiastic reception of last year’s series of performances, RCINY brings back the two artists in 2012 for an extended U.S. tour to Romanian-American audiences across the United States. Tour dates, between July 5-15, include Easton, CT, New York City, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, and San Francisco, CA. In NYC, the performance will take place at Peter Norton Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater on July 6. EMINESCU is performed in Romanian and dedicated to the Romanian communities in the United States. FREE ADMISSION
