Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais are presenting until 15th January 2006 a impressive and fascinating exhibitions dedicated to the works and personality of the legendary Walt Disney. Using more than 400 works, the organisers are offering for the first time a vast presentation of Disney's sources of inspiration. And these are varied, from the works of artists such as Bruege, Durer, Dore, Gustave Moreau, Dali, to those of film-makers such as Fritz Lang or Chaplin. Disney found ideas in the strangest places, and he often chose themes, ideas and subjects from the Flemish Primitivism, the works of Romantic and Symbolist painters, the german expressionism in film, especially for his first cartoons.
