In June 2008 the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) is organising the Martial Arts event, a place to speak about the cultural, artistic, political and social problems of the country, the guest being the now famous and utterly controversial Sorin Tara, one of the best and most popular of the young artists. So far, this highly original and often scandalous artist has caused quite a stir in Romanian art - and abroad - due to the courage of his compositions, the violence of his graphical style, the way he simply makes fun of every interdiction and taboo, the way he continues to shock and cause an uproar. Often accused of having far-right political opinions - an idea that caused him to shock even more - of making a maccabre art, Sorin Tara will come to Martial Arts in the same way.
On June 24th 2008, at theRomanian Cultural Institute on Aleea Alexandru, No 38, Bucharest, Sorin Tara is coming to talk about Romania, art, politics, creation, artists, likes and dislikes, enemies and friends, themes and future or past shows. A meeting that is bound to be an event, moderated by Erwin Kessler. Something not to be missed.
