Prince William is the elder son of Charles Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. On 29 April 2011, following his marriage to Catherine Middleton, the title The Duke of Cambridge was conferred on him by The Queen.
The Duke attended Ludgrove School in Berkshire, for five years until 5 July 1995 and then the Eton College. He studied Geography, Biology and History of Art at A Level. He visited coutries in Africa, Belize, Chile and worked on British dairy farms. After this experiences he studiedat St. Andrewa University in Fife, Scotland. Prince William also joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and graduated as a fully operational RAF Search and Rescue Pilot.
His famous and beloved mother, Princess Diana of Wales, died in a car accident in Paris. William was only 15 – years old when he lost her. She desired for her sons to have a “normal” life with wider experiences than other royal children. Lady Di visited AIDS clinics and shelters for the homeless and was also well known for her fund-raising work for international charities. Her son William is now President or Patron to a number of charities and organisations whose work he wishes to support.
William's private life became the subject of tabloid speculation, especially around his relationship with Kate Middleton. Theire wedding took place on 29 April 2011 in Westminster Abbey in London. Kate’s engagement ring is the 18 carat sapphire engagement ring of Princess Diana.
