Julia Fiona Roberts was born in October 28, 1967 in Smyrna, Georgia. Her father was a vacuum cleaner salesman and her mother a church secretary. They were also actors and they met while performing in theater pieces for the armed forces. They divorced when Julia was a little child, her mother re-married and her father died of cancer when the little girl was only 10.
After graduating from Smyrna’s Campbell High School and after attending Georgia State University she moved in New York, where she dreamed to become an actress. She signed with a modeling agency and joined soame acting classes. She was in the mos apropriate place: New York! “If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere” and she made it!
Julia has a brother, who is also wel known, because he is also an actor. Ironically, he was the first one who was the first to play in a movie. Despite the fact that he had a solid career , Julia was the one who earned a spot among the Hollywood’s elite.
She is one of the greatest actress on Hollywood. During the early ‘90s she starred opposite Richard Gere in the romantic comedy “Pretty Woman”. It was her moment, she gained a great fam all over the world and since then she grew and 2002 – 2005 became the highest – paid actress on earth. For her role in “Mona Lisa Smile” Julia Roberts was paid with 25 Million $.
After two previous nominations the actress won the most coveted award, the Oscar, for her character Erin Brockowich. The film is based on a true story about a single mother who won a battle against the coroprate environmental offenders. She was the first actress who appeared on the cover of the Vogue Magazine and the first woman in GQ. Julia Roberts played successful dramatic roles but she also starred in savory comedies among great actors.
