George Enescu was born on August 19, 1881, in Livieni village, Botosani county, and he was a composer, violinist, professor, pianist and bandmaster.
He is considered to be the most important Romanian musician. From childhood he manifested an extraordinary inclination for music.
Enescu started to play the violin at age of four years and at five years he appeared in his first concert. Under the guidance of Eduard Caudella he begins studies of composition. He was also guided by famous musicians and his parents.
Between 1888 and 1893 he studied at the Vienna Conservatory with Joseph Hellmesberger and Robert Fuchs. Between 1893 and 1899 in Paris with Andre Gelalge, Jules Messenet and Gabriel Faure.
His creations approach almost all forms of music types, reflecting also the love for the people in the middle of which he was raised.
