2. The very first Stones single was released in 1963 by Decca. It was the same Decca that had refused to sign another young band. The one called The Beatles.
3. How did they chose the name? According to Keith Richards it was somewhat random luck, as they were inspired by a Muddy Waters LP, which had a track called Rollin' Stone Blues. And the rest is history.
4. George Lucas, the future legendary film director, was one of the camera operators for the 1970 documentary Gimme Shelter about the last part of the ill-fated 1969 Stones tour.
5. Andy Warhol designed the Sticky Fingers LP cover.
6. Their world famous tongue logo - some say that it was also created by Warhol - was inspired by the terrible Hindu goddess Kali.
7. In February 2006, when they played at the Copacabana Beach, the band established a new world record - 1.5 million fans came to see them live.
