- Ducu Bertzi was born in Sighetu-Marmatiei, in Maramures county from Romania, on 21 September 1955. His parents, Alexander Bertzi and Florica Bertzi, were teachers.
Ducu was the first child. After three years from his birth on this world came his sister, Florica Maria. In 1989, on January 21, Ducu married with Theodora. They have two children, Maura and Rares.
Ducu Bertzi followed the courses of the primary school, gymnasium and high school in his hometown. Also in the same city he graduated the Dragos Voda Music School.
After high school he was taken to join the army forces for one year and four months, in Someseni, Cluj county. From 1976 he is accepted to the Faculty of Fine Mechanics Bucharest - sub-engineers. In 1979, at the repartition he chooses a factory in Bucharest.
In 1990, after leaving the factory he goes as a PR Director to the National Courier.
From 1992 he makes his own PR and Advertising firm with Constantin Dragomir. From 1995 he decides to make only music and radio broadcasts. Here we can enumerate Who and how many paths or Spirit of Freedom. From 1997 until now, with Mihai Cosmin Popescu, he made on Radio Romania News the show Guitar Man, one of the broadcasting shows that attracted many listeners. In 2005, on Radio Bucharest, Ducu Bertzi made the show The Club from Thursday evening, along with Maria Gheorghiu.
His musical beginings can be found in the mandatory concerts that were held at the violin-music school. The first rock band formed by him came to life in 1969, when he had just 14 years. The name of the band was Express 69. In high school the band will have the name Mi Bemol Rock.
From '73 he begins to sing folk music and wins his first prize at a music and poetry festival. On a prestigious stage his debut takes place in 1976, in a festival of music and poetry called The pripas country.
The consecration in the Flame Circle comes in October 1979, on the stage of the Theatre Ion Creanga, with the song called When the luck was divided.
From 1985, after the dismanting Circle of Flame, Ducu records new songs that later will become hits. And f it would be, Edelweiss, The hunted fire.
In over 30 years of activity he performed in more than 4.000 shows and artistic events. Also Ducu Bertzi performed in over 1.300 concerts.
He recorded also his first solo album in 1997, Wanderlust. In 2000 he makes other two albums, first called My Soul and second Winter Story.
In 2004 comes on the market signed by the same artist Maramures Songs and in 2006 A Christmas Night.
