Dinu Cocea, a prominent figure in the evolution of the Romanian cinematography, was born on 22 September, year 1929, in the Peris village, Ilfov county.
Director an screenwriter with an innate talent to give eternal life to movies, Dinu Cocea is originaly from Romania. He established in Paris in 1985 to escape the Communist regime from Romania.
After the movie series "Outlaws" and "Iancu Jianu", Dinu Cocea came into the attention of the communist censorship with the intention of creating the movie "On saturday's water". The movie had the intention to narrate the story of a dam from Arges, built wrong with a foundation of limestone.
The project failed to see the light of the day and was refused by the communist authorities. After this event, Dinu Cocea was banned and his name was removed from the film generics that appeared in cinematographs or national television channel.
He settled in Paris in 1985, after many attempts to emigrate with his wife and daughter.
