The French Institute of Bucharest has opened on the fourth of March a new exhibition, "Engravings and Illustrations", in which are presented works by the famous artist Devis Grebu. Born in Bucharest in 1933, Grebu has graduated "Nicolae Grigorescu" Fine Arts Institute and left Romania in 1964. He received his French citizenship and since then has worked for several european newspapers and magazines L'Express, Le Monde, Le Point, Le Figaro, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Le Monde diplomatique. He has made press illustrations for some of the most important publications : New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, International Herald Tribune.
Grebu has also provided graphics for several books, more than forty, published by the most distinguished publishing houses, like Gallimard, Seuil, Hachette, Random House, Viking-Penguin.
