Early life
Boreanaz was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where his father, Dave Roberts (born David Thomas Boreanaz), is a weatherman for WPVI-TV; his mother, Patti, is a travel agent. He is of Czech descent on his father's side and of Italian descent on his mother's,[1] and was raised a Catholic.
Boreanaz attended high school at Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and went to college at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. After graduating, Boreanaz moved to Hollywood, California and was discovered by a producer who noticed his brooding and intense looks.

Boreanaz' first appearance was a guest spot on the hit American sitcom, Married... with Children, as Kelly's biker boyfriend. He was cast in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer [2], playing the mysterious Angel, a vampire with a soul. The show became enormously successful and Boreanaz starred in a spin-off series, Angel, which gave the chance for the character to evolve, and concentrated on Angel's battle for redemption. He appeared on "Buffy" from 1997 to 1999, at which point he began starring in "Angel", which ended in 2004.
Boreanaz' only starring role in a major theatrical film was in 2001's slasher horror film, Valentine, alongside Denise Richards and Katherine Heigl. He is also the voice of Squall Leonhart in the video game Kingdom Hearts.
In 2003, Boreanaz appeared in the music video for singer Dido's "White Flag". In 2005, he began starring opposite Emily Deschanel on the current primetime television series, Bones.
In 2005 Boreanaz starred in a Canadian Film called "These Girls" as a biker hunk in a small town who after having an affair with his babysitter gets tangled up in a strange situation with her friends. The film is slated for release in Canadian Theatres in March 2006 and in early spring it will go straight to DVD in the U.S. This film was previewed at both the Toronto Film Festival and the Vancouver Film Festival in 2005.
He currently has two films in post-production: Mr. Fixit and Suffering Man's Charity. They will be released in 2006.
Private life
Boreanaz lives in Los Angeles, California. He was married to Ingrid Quinn from 1997 to 1999, and married actress and model Jaime Bergman on November 24, 2001. The couple have a son, Jaden Rayne Boreanaz, who was born on May 1, 2002.
