Dada or the Dadaism is the early 20th century art movement, which ridicule the contemporary and tradional culture and art forms rather than to promote a particulare style itself. The artists produced works whch reflected an ironical attitude toward the social and moral values of that period. Dada art was unconventional.
The movement was founded in Zurich, Switzerland. The name was choosen for it’s the naive sound and not for his literally meaning (“hoby horse”).
The anti-art movement spread quickly in Berlin, Cologne, Hanover, Paris and New York City. Although Switzerland remaind the ideal place where the artists could express themselves free. Dada or Dadaism was also a reaction against the bourgeois Victorian values.
