The Shanghai Museum in China is hosting a fabulous exhibition dedicated to the work and personality of one of history's most important jewellers - Louis-Francois Cartier. More than a century and a half after Cartier opened his first workshop in Paris, the creations of Cartier's designers are more and more popular, famous for their grace, elegance and value, ranging from exquisite jewellery to accessories.
The exhibition at the Shanghai Museum is not only an important artistic and cultural event, but also a premiere for China, as the public has finally the chance to discover and enjoy the original masterpieces marked Cartier. Also, the curators have tried to retrace the fascinating history of the company, having a much larger scale than any of the previous displays of Cartier's creations. The exhibition is being presented here after having successfully toured in other countries all around the world. Around 200 vintage pieces have been chosen, alongside with nearly one hundred contemporary Cartier creations, in order for the audience to compare and notice the changes in style and fashion ovedr the years, from the early and even humble beginnings to it's nowadays glory.
The main focus is on jewellery, but several other types of products are present, such as clocks, watches, handbags, cosmetic boxes and many other. The organisers have tried to complete the image vith some of the most interesting arhive drawings from the Cartier Collection.
