Artist's Presentation Claudia Mandl

I was born in Romania, in the region of Transylvania. I believe that my passion for painting existed inside of me when I was born.




I began painting on the streets of Sighisoara, Sibiu and Brasov. The legend says that the prince Vlad Tepes was born in Sighisoara, which is the most beautiful and best preserved medieval city of Trasylvania.



In this city, I had the chance of realizing an imaginary trip of painting and to recreate the medieval feel of ancient times. I have always
been attracted by medieval cities and Montreal, my adoptive city, has fascinated me since the first day.



The joy of painting here is overwhelming, and this feeling is similar to the one I had in Europe. I am also attracted by the human characters present in my paintings, since I have spent a few years to the study of portraits. These portraits have been created in knife and oil, a technique that has not prevented me from presenting the smallest details while keeping the spontaneity of the paint.



The techniques that I use are oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel and China inks. My opens are a happy mixture between my emotions and all my years of study in drawing and in color, to arrive has to express all that I feel.



The joy of painting is a gift I was endowed with and I offer my creations for you to contemplate.
