- The founding member of the band is Bobita Catusanu. Antract was founded in 1984 and the first name was Mini-Paradox because their ativities took place under the guidance of a rock band named Paradox, from Ramnicu Valcea, Romania.
The band had also another name, Zig-Zag, when took place the recordings for the first songs at the National Radio. At the same time the members of the band were advised to choose a particular way and so the name of the band was changed for the last time in Antract.
Along the career the band has changed. The first two albums were realised by the brothers Cristian Iordan, Zelu Iordan and Robert Constantinescu.Three years later a change was made through the fusion with Sibiu, as the members often say, by the joining of Ilie Manole Vlad and Arthur Fleischer.
Before all this the third album was launched in 1999 and brings a change of style in the message transmitting. The new album and the style is a bit different than Antract, released in 1994 and Curse, released in 1995.
The year 2000 brings another change in the band's composition. Arthur Fleischer is replaced by Florin Pefi Pop. The same year brings a great successwith the single My Heart, that manages to occupy the first position in the speciality rankings.
From 2001 the band has a new drummer, respectively Andrei Barbulescu from another romanian band called Sarmalele Reci. Besides the new colleaguecomes another album, Memories. The material has six songs about love. In 2003, Antract released another album, New. In that same year Cosmin Cadar and Fernando Draganici joined the band.
In 2004 Antract celebrated 20 years. The group, founded by Bobita Catusanu in 1984 has accumulated a rich musical experience that materializes in a collection that includes many of the band's songs that became hits. It's about one anniversary album named Live 20 years and produced by MediaPro Music.
The album Contrasts that was released in 2006 is the 7th album signed by Antract and the second in multimedia form, after Memories.
