Patrick Swayze, nascut pe 18 august 1952 in Houston, Texas, a incetat din viata pe 14 septembrie 2009.
Pana la varsta de 20 de ani a trait in Oak Forest, un cartier din Houston. In adolescenta Swayze a urmat cursuri de patinaj, balet clasic si actorie. A studiat gimnastica timp de doi ani la colegiul San Jacinto, iar in 1972 s-a mutat in New York pentru a-si termina studiile de balet incadrul scolilor Harkness si Joffrey.
In viata personala Swaze a fost casatorit cu Lisa Niemi de pe 12 iunie 1975 pana pe 14 septembrie 2009.
