In the year of 2010, a year in a century of technology evolution, digital art is a term we all find often in all kind of works. The digital paintings gain popularity as days months and years go by and the photographs are also often called "digital works" because today's photography is a product of digital cameras. Rarely, the DSLR professional cameras are not digitized to complete the talet of a photographer.
The digital technology transformed the traditional activities like painting, sculpture, drawing. The new net art, digital art exactly, is for an amateur cheaper than the classic art we know and admire in museums. All the "action" happens in a virtual reality. Generaly the term digital artist is a term used to describe an artist who makes use of new technologies, digital technologies, to produce art works.
In a large sense the same term "digital art" is applied to contemporary art that uses the methods of mass production or all that digital media means.
Most of the techniques of what we call digital art are used often by the mainstream media in the process of making films and advertisements. In both cases all that they realise unconventionally, by using the virtual world, are the special effects.
In publishing, the digital techniques are used to make graphic designs. Even some people contest this new age techniques, most of those dedicated to classic art will probably accept the digital art as many more others accepted the electronic produced music, a new thing in the past three decades, a usual thing in the year of 2010.
