2. Johnny Cash is not his real (or original) name. He was named J.R. Cash by his parents and he even has this name on the school diploma. Only when he enlisted in the army the recruiter was furious about the idea of a soldier having that kind of a name. So J.R. became John R. Cash. Then Johnny Cash.
3. Another huge singer, Roy Orbison, was his neighbour for over two decades.
4. He loved animals and had several in his animals park situated on the House of Cash, which also had a recording studio, a museum and even a gift shop for the visitors. In 1981, when he had to move the animals for the winter, an ostritch named Waldo nearly killed the singer. The bird hit him so hard that Cash ended up in the hospital with five broken ribs, several lacerations and lots of pain. He was closer the death that he could have imagined.
